Mood Rings

Atlanta’s Mood Rings just released their debut album, VPI Harmony, which floats between between Cocteau Twins style ethereal guitar wash and more sultry beat driven songs. (Stream the LP at Rdio.) Sometimes, like on album standout “The Line,” they do a little of both. You can watch the video for that single below. As mentioned, the band are in town on Thursday (7/11) at Mercury Lounge with their Mexican Summer labelmate Travis Bretzer. Tickets are still available.

Since that posting, Mood Rings have added a second NYC show, happening Friday (7/12) at Cameo Gallery where they’ll open for Montreal’s dark and moody Valleys, who are making the trip down just for that show. The night starts with synth duo Klaus and tickets are on sale now.

If you haven’t heard Valleys’ new album, Are You Going To Stand There And Talk Weird All Night?, you can stream it via Rdio.
