Beck at LPR last month/weekend (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Beck

Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows. Here are some highlights…

Black Sabbath, Andrew W.K. @ PNC Bank Arts Center
Bill Ward or no Bill Ward, with Black Sabbath’s appearance at PNC Bank Arts Center, we can’t help but wonder, “is this the last time we’ll see them?” It just might be. Don’t be one of those coulda/shoulda folk, and catch these metal pioneers in action. Some guy in a dirty white t-shirt opens.

Beck @ Prospect Park Bandshell
Fresh off a night opening for Bob Dylan and an intimate acoustic show at Le Poisson Rouge, Beck brings the full band to a big, sold-out Prospect Park.

Natural Child, Skimask, Juniper Rising @ Death By Audio
Southern rock is alive, well and probably drinking a tallboy as we speak — it’s Nashville’s Natural Child who appear to have stepped right out of 1973. They can play, too. We’ve been hearing good things about Juniper Rising, too.

Ovlov, Mr. Dream, Kal Marks, Chandeliers @ Shea Stadium
Boston indie rockers/Krill associates Kal Marks bring their tour with Chandeliers to Brooklyn tonight for a show at Shea Stadium. Also on the bill is Kal Marks’ Exploding In Sound labelmates Ovlov and local rockers Mr. Dream.

Grand Resort @ South Street Seaport Front/Row Stage
While growing up in the Dominican Republic, Andrés Pichardo discovers obscure UK indiepop via the internet. After moving the States, he forms his own version of the sounds he loved: Grand Resort. Part of the Sound Bites Series curated by BV’s Bill Pearis who will be DJing before the band. 3 PM, free.

Mungo Jerry, Apache, White Mystery, Jonathan Toubin (DJ) @ Brooklyn Bowl
A rather kooky bill, this will be headlined by ’60s jug-band blues act Mungo Jerry (yes “In the Summertime” Mungo Jerry) but also features Chicago’s garagey White Mystery, and San Francisco glam-punks Apache. Bands start at 8 PM and afterwards Jonathan Toubin will spin laaate into the night. This could be pretty cool. $10.

Cloud Control, Mon Khmer, Stone Cold Fox @ Glasslands
Fans of anthemic “whoa-oh” style indie will want to be at Glasslands tonight for Australia’s Cloud Control, whose single “Dojo Rising” is undeniably catchy.

Washed Out (DJ Set), Chrome Sparks (DJ Set), Small Black (DJ Set), Lemonade (DJ Set) @ The Thompson Hotel
Ahead of the release of his new album, Paracosm, Washed Out and some friends DJ a “Washed Out Pool Party” at this LES hotel today (2 PM – 7 PM).

Kidnap Kid (DJ Set), Shuttle (DJ Set) @ W New York – Union Square
UK garage producer Kidnap Kid and Passion Pit drummer Nate Donmoyer (aka Shuttle) will handle the boards at W Hotels’ summer music series tonight.

Beyonce @ Barclays Center
Night 2 of Beyonce’s three-night run at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Expect an elaborate stage show, the hits, and some new songs as well.

Eric Andre, Hannibal Buress, Sam Simmons @ Knitting Factory
Eric Andre of Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show teams up with Knitting Factory regular Hannibal Buress for a night of laughs.
