Caravels expand tour, add second CMJ show w/ The Jazz June & The Saddest Landscape (dates & LP stream)

Caravels
Henderson, NV post-hardcore band Caravels have been putting out solid EPs, splits, and 7″s for a few years now, and earlier this year they released their first full length, Lacuna, via Topshelf Records. Musically, it’s a pretty dynamic record, often indebted to post-rock and ’90s slow-emo, but with raw, backgrounded vocals that take the approach of early screamo and heavy indie rock. It’s been a good year for this type of stuff and Lacuna is no exception. Stream it in full below.
Caravels will be heading out on a tour with their labelmates Have Mercy, which kicks off in NYC for CMJ and ends in Gainseville, FL for The Fest. Both bands play the previously discussed Topshelf showcase at Saint Vitus on 10/19 with Braid, The Jazz June, and Enemies, which is now sold out.
It’s since been announced that Caravels, Enemies, and The Jazz June (who are reuniting for these shows) will also play the free unofficial Topshelf CMJ party at Suburbia (10/18) a day earlier. That show also includes another great modern screamo band The Saddest Landscape (who also open our sold-out BV-presented Touche Amore show), Prawn and My Fictions. All ages, 7 PM start, and like we said, totally free. Flyer below.
Have Mercy also open the Knapsack show at MHOW. Tickets for that are still available.
