GEMS / Wilsen / John Murry @ Mercury Lounge, 10/17/2013
As one of the biggest “indie” booking agencies, The Windish Agency had a lot of bands at CMJ this year, like usual. Their official showcase at Mercury Lounge on Thursday, 10/17 presented some of their newer talent: the atmospheric, downcast songs of MOJO-approved San Franciscan John Murry; ethereal duo Wilsen (who covered Grimes’ “Oblivion”), and DC duo GEMS who were one of the more talked-about bands of the fest. We also caught Dan Croll and Bad Suns, and pictures from their sets are in this post.
You can catch GEMS in NYC again when they open for Anna Calvi on November 11 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets are still available.
