Drowners ready debut LP (streams), playing Baby's All Right this week, headlining Bowery Ballroom in January

Drowners @ BV CMJ 2013 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

After a slow start, Drowners are now set to release their debut album, which is out January 28 via Frenchkiss and it’s loaded with catchy guitar pop that owes much to ’90s Britpop and Strokes/Libertines-style rock. You can stream current single “Luv, Hold Me Down” below.

Drowners, who just played a bunch of CMJ shows (including our Saturday day party at Baby’s All Right), will play a record release party for their debut LP at Bowery Ballroom on January 31. Tickets for the Bowery show go on sale Friday (11/8) at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (11/6) at noon. But if you want to see them sooner, Drowners play Baby’s All Right again on Friday (11/8). That is the show the “Laura Palmers” were listed on earlier in the week but the show is now listed as being headlined by “Secret Guest” and Gang of Youths are on the bill as well. Those are Drowners’ only two scheduled shows at the moment.
