Ghost played Best Buy Theater w/ King Dude, who was being heckled a bit (pics, setlist)

The best part, really, was that Papa Emeritus wasn’t the only thing to watch on stage. The rest of the band has a ton of energy and synergy that made it amazing to behold.

Biggest surprises? To my left, there was a woman in front of me playing Candy Crush Saga on her phone the entire show.

To my right, there was a guy holding his ~6 year old son, who was just rocking out the whole time. [Reddit user ggabriele3]

The costumed Satanic Swedes known as Ghost (or Ghost B.C.) wrapped up their North American tour in NYC with a show at Best Buy Theater on Saturday (5/17). Their 17-song set included most of both albums, plus covers of The Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” and Roky Erickson’s “If You Have Ghosts.” Opening for Ghost on this tour was noir-country crooner King Dude, who put out his new album Fear earlier this month. It sounded like an interesting pairing, but as the Reddit user quoted above points out, the crowd didn’t treat him very well (and other users agreed in the comments):

The only real disappointment was how the crowd treated the opener – King Dude. Granted the guy has a very different sound (think post-apocalyptic Americana; like Fallout New Vegas), and I feel like the guy really hasn’t perfected his sound yet….but the guys yelling “you suck” should have been thrown out.

Another person tweeted “Really saddened to hear about King Dude being booed during his support slots for Ghost’s US tour.”

Pictures of both Ghost and King Dude are in this post and on Facebook. More, with Ghost’s setlist, below…
