Merchandise finished up their 3-night NYC run LATE last night

Florida post-punks Merchandise finally wrapped up the third of three NYC shows on their tour ahead of the release of their first album for 4AD, After the End (due 8/26). The run ended late last night (they went on around 1:30 AM, so technically this morning) at the Nothing Changes party at Home Sweet Home (the same place they played WIERD two years ago), after shows at Glasslands and Saint Vitus this past weekend. Last night’s show was by far the smallest of the three, with the crowd packed around the band from almost all angles, the fog machines turned up to 11, and killer pastel lights bouncing off the low ceiling’s disco ball. I caught the Vitus show and the Nothing Changes show and last night’s was definitely the more exciting of the two. Crowd and band both seemed like they were just having a blast (perhaps due to everyone being a little drunker).
