Ex Hex detail debut LP, 'Rips,' share single "Don't Wanna Lose" +++ full tour w/ Speedy Ortiz announced

Yesterday we mentioned that Ex Hex and Speedy Ortiz had scheduled some shows together, and it was since announced that it’s a full tour happening this fall. The tour brings the two bands to NYC on November 1 at Glasslands with Aye Nako and November 2 at Mercury Lounge. Tickets for the Glasslands and the Merc shows go on sale Friday (7/11) at 10 AM and noon, respectively. All dates are listed below.

Ex Hex (aka Mary Timony, Laura Harris and Betsy Wright) also just finally announced that their debut album, Rips, will be out on October 7 via Merge. And they’ve put out its new single, “Don’t Wanna Lose,” which you may have heard them play live and can now listen to recorded, below. It, uh… rips.

As we pointed out yesterday, you can also catch both bands in NYC this month. Speedy plays 4Knots Festival on Saturday (7/12) with Dinosaur Jr, Mac DeMarco and more (free); and Ex Hex plays MoMA Nights on July 17 (free with museum admission).

For all upcoming dates, Speedy’s lineup includes Grass Is Green guitarist Devin McKnight replacing Matt Robidoux who’s currently on hiatus from the band. Though you can catch Matt’s other band Pony Bones in NYC TONIGHT (7/9) at Silent Barn with Aye Nako, Ovlov and more.
