Bettye LaVette released a new album, kicking off Cafe Carlyle residency tonight (LP stream + other tour dates)

Like Debbie Harry will do in March, soul veteran Bettye LaVette will kick off a residency at NYC’s Cafe Carlyle tonight (1/28) which runs through February 7. (It would’ve began last night, but blizzard.) Tickets for all nine nights are on sale now. She has other tour dates booked through April, all of which are listed below.
Bettye also released her new album, Worthy, this week via Cherry Red Records, and she’ll be playing selections from that at the Cafe Carlyle shows. The record features a handful of covers, including songs by Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. You can listen in full at the Wall Street Journal).
