Mekons touring this summer, playing two NYC shows
Mekons will be touring this summer, including two NYC stops: Bowery Ballroom on July 21 and Red Hook’s Jalopy Theatre on July 23. Tickets for the Bowery show go on sale Friday (5/8) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (5/6) at noon. No word on Jalopy tickets yet. All dates are listed below.
No word on whether this tour is supporting something in particular or not, but 2015 does mark the 30th anniversary of Mekons’ classic Fear & Whiskey, the UK band’s first foray into country music. You can stream the album via Rdio below. There also continue to be screenings of documentary Revenge of the Mekons, including one at New Jersey’s WFMU Monty Hall on May 21 (tickets).
