You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Laura Marling @ Town Hall
Laura Marling went electric earlier this year on Short Movie, but even with the new sounds, the excellent songwriting is still clearly her own.

The Dillinger Escape Plan, White Widows, Moon Tooth, Lyken21 @ Saint Vitus
The Dillinger Escape Plan have been banging out quality mathcore since the late ’90s, and their shows are still a killer time. This one’s pretty intimate for them, and not surprisingly sold out.

X @ City Winery
L.A. punk icons X are here for three shows at City Winery; sadly guitarist Billy Zoom is battling cancer and couldn’t make the trip but part of the proceeds of these shows will go towards his medical bills.

Hot Chip @ Baby’s All Right
Ahead of their two Webster Hall shows, Hot Chip play tonight at this very intimate “Jukely members only” show. “Sold out”, but if you snagged tickets, it should be a great show — Hot Chip haven’t played somewhere this small since Coming On Strong.

Night Train w/ Seaton Smith @ Littlefield
Seaton Smith fills in for regular Night Train host Wyatt Cenac and welcomes guests Jermaine Fowler, Brooke Van Poppelen, Louis Katz, Gary Vider, and Miguel Dalmau.

J. Cole, Big Sean, YG, Jeremih @ PNC Bank Arts Center
J. Cole’s out on the road supporting his late 2014 release, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, and he’s got some pretty great openers: Big Sean, who made his best album yet this year, krazy Compton rapper YG, and alt-R&B standout Jeremih (who also makes this show worth it on his own — he really doesn’t tour enough).

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
