The music spilled into the streets of downtown Raleigh Friday evening along with thousands of visitors from all over the country ready to dance, eat, and spend money at the Hopscotch Music Festival.
“So far so good. It’s a great turnout,” said organizer Travis Janovich.
It has become one of the biggest weekends of the year for the Busy Bee Cafe. Owners threw a day party to get people in their doors even earlier.
“It is a huge boom to our business for sure. We buy a ton of extra beer. We bring in a ton of extra staff and a lot of extra food,” said co-owner Chris Powers.
More than 20,000 people are expected in downtown over the course of the weekend. Restaurants and bars plan to be packed through Sunday.
“It’s an all-hands-on-deck type of situation,” said Powers. – [WTVD]
The three-day 2015 edition of Hopscotch Festival kicked off Thursday (9/10) in downtown Raleigh, NC. The outdoor City Plaza stage hosted Godspeed You! Hopscotch wraps up tonight (9/12) with sets from Dwight Yoakum, punk legends X, plus Owen Pallet, Godflesh, and more. We’ll have more from the rest of the fest soon, and more pictures from Hopscotch Day 1 below…
