Yo La Tengo / Nick Lowe @ Kings Theatre

Yo La Tengo‘s special four-piece, mostly acoustic tour, with Dave Shramm’s electric guitar providing a few jolts, hit Brooklyn’s gorgeous Kings Theatre on Saturday. As on their new, Fakebook-esque album Stuff Like That There, the night was heavy on covers, including The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love” and Minutemen’s “Corona.” The great Nick Lowe opened the show and came out for Yo La Tengo’s encore, guesting on renditions of The Left Banke’s “Walk Away Renee” and his own “Rollers Show.”
