Sun Kil Moon & Jesu share "America's Most Wanted Mark Kozelek & John Dillinger" (listen)

Jesu Sun Kil MOon

A couple years ago, Mark Kozelek covered Godflesh’s “Like Rats”, and he’s since teamed up with that band’s frontman Justin Broadrick to release a collaborative album under their respective Sun Kil Moon and Jesu monikers. The album is simply called Jesu/Sun Kil Moon, and it’s due on January 22 via Mark’s Caldo Verde label and Rough Trade. Will Oldham, Low, and Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell will also contribute.

As Stereogum points out, they just released the first single from the album, “America’s Most Wanted Mark Kozelek & John Dillinger.” It includes references to listening to Sonic Youth’s first record, Bob Marley and Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny; watching James Blake at a festival; and a letter a publicist forwarded Mark from a fan thanking him for a Sun Kil Moon show in Manchester (which Mark reads in full). You can listen to the whole thing here.
