!!! (chk chk chk) share sci-fi parody "Ooo" video, opening for themselves on tour as Stereolab cover band (NYC this week)

After making their last couple videos using their laptop (including its camera), funk-punk vets !!! (chk chk chk) have ponied up some dough for an actual budget for “Ooo,” maybe the best song on their new album, As If. Casper Kelly, the guy behind Adult Swim’s brilliantly weird Too Many Cooks directs, with a Star Trek/Star Wars theme about a playboy starship captain who has a different conquest every night, and the consequences of which start a few intergalactic incidents. Watch it below.

The band’s tour just started, and is currently in NYC for two shows — tonight (11/17) at Music Hall of Williamsburg with Guerrilla Toss and Wednesday (11/18) at Bowery Ballroom with Eaters — and tickets are still available. We’re also giving a pair away via Facebook.

Both shows, and the whole tour, is also with Stereolad is actually just members of !!! playing as a Stereolab cover band, which sounds kinda fun. They’ve made a “Stereolad Selects” Spotify playlist which make give some indication of what songs they’ll be covering. Listen below.
