We’ve been talking a lot about how 2015 was the best year for major label rap in a while, but that’s not to say the indie-label stuff was slacking. Oddisee‘s The Good Fight on Mello Music Group was on rotation for us for most of last year, so we’re thrilled to announce that Oddisee is headlining the next BrooklynVegan-curated Red Bull Sound Select show in Brooklyn.

It happens January 19 at Baby’s All Right, and like at all RBSS shows, we’ve picked two local-ish openers that we’re excited about. One is Philly’s Tunji Ige, whose collaborations with Christine and the Queens and Jimi Tents caught our ear, as did his own stuff (like his recent single “On My Grind”). The other is local duo Oshun, whose 2015 mixtape ASASE YAA combined R&B, rap and gospel with harsh and necessary commentary on racial injustice in America.

Like most RBSS shows, admission is $3 at the door with RSVP or $10 without. No advanced sales. First come, first served, so get there on time to guarantee you get in! This will be your last chance to see Oddisee in a venue this small for a while. I’ll also be DJing between sets.
