Lucinda Williams

Alt-country vet Lucinda Williams is set to release her twelfth album, The Ghosts of Highway 20, the followup to 2014’s Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, on February 5 via her own Highway 20 Records. She co-produced it with Greg Leisz and Tom Overby, and it features a version of Woody Guthrie’s unfinished “House of Earth” and a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Factory,” plus 12 original songs. Among those are “If My Love Could Kill,” “Dust” and the title track, all of which are very melancholic (and even more deeply moving when taken into consideration that her father’s 2015 death inspired this album). The latter two are also pretty lengthy, passing the six and seven minute marks, respectively. Listen to those two below, and “If My Love Could Kill” here.

She’ll be supporting it on a tour in March/April that hits NYC for a five-night run at City Winery on March 13, 14, 16, 17 & 18 at City Winery. Tickets for all five shows are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
