Snoop Dogg & Daz Dillinger stream 'Cuzznz'; 50 Cent, Styles P & more playing NYC shows

Daz n Snoop

Snoop Dogg‘s recent albums haven’t exactly been at the top of his game and even live shows were lackluster, but when he showed up on Dr. Dre’s Compton, he suddenly rapped harder than he had in years. At his Doggystyle set at Riot Fest later that same month, he proved when he’s dishing out the classics, he’s absolutely still got it. So it’s good news that he teamed up with his cousin, Tha Dogg Pound’s Daz Dillinger (who joined Snoop on both Doggystyle and The Chronic), for the collaborative album Cuzznz, and it’s a total throwback to the G-funk era. Daz’s Dogg Pound partner Kurupt is all over the record, as is Snoop’s 7 Days of Funk collaborator Dam-Funk. It’s cool to hear him doing this kind of thing again. Check it out below, via Spotify.

Another Dre collaborator, 50 Cent (who, admittedly, has not been on his A game recently), has two NYC shows coming up in support of his Kanan Tape mixtape. He plays BB King’s on January 29 and Highline Ballroom on January 31. Tickets are on sale now.

50’s fellow early-2000s NYC staple, The LOX’s Styles P (who he once feuded with), plays a hometown show on February 3 at SOB’s. Tickets are on sale now.

A couple other rap shows coming up that we haven’t mentioned yet: J. Cole associate Cozz at SOB’s on 2/16 (tickets), and Houston’s Kirko Bangz at The Studio at Webster Hall on 2/29 (tix on sale 2/20 at 10 AM).

Since we were talking about Dre, his newest protege Anderson .Paak‘s great new album is out today and his tour includes SOB’s this month. Other upcoming NYC shows include Oddisee / Oshun / Tunji Ige, Floetry, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Durk, Tinashe, Flatbush Zombies, Rich the Kid, The-Dream, Big Boi (DJ), Talib Kweli, Waka Flocka, Maxwell & Nas, Future & Ty Dolla $ign, Fetty Wap, Rihanna & Travi$ Scott, Pusha T, A$AP Rocky & Joey Bada$$, A$AP Ferg & G-Eazy, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Migos, and more.
