Arlo Guthrie going on “The Alice’s Restaurant — Back By Popular Demand Tour”
"I didn't think I was gonna live long enough to have to learn 'Alice's Restaurant' again," says Arlo Guthrie of his 1967 counter-culture classic which spawned a 1969 film. "It was a quirky kinda thing to begin with. Nobody writes an 18-minute monologue expecting fame and fortune." Arlo celebrated 50 years of performances in 2017, and now he's be making "Alice's Restaurant" the centerpiece of this fall's "Arlo Guthrie Presents The Alice's Restaurant -- Back By Popular Demand Tour." For it, Arlo will be joined by his son, Abe, along with longtime collaborators Terry "A La Berry" Hall, Steve Ide and Carol Ide who were in his former Shenandoah. Arlo's daughter Sarah Lee Guthrie will open all shows.
The East Coast / Midwest tour, which includes shows in NJ, Westchester, CT, and Upstate NY, wraps up with Arlo's annual Thanksgiving Concert at NYC's Carnegie Hall on November 24. Tickets for that show will be on sale soon.
