Ash

Ash streaming "Buzzkill" off new LP, touring, doing RSD crawl in NYC

Ireland’s Ash have been making punky, power poppy alternative rock since they were teenagers in the ’90s, and they’re still doing it today, with all the spirit that they had in their youth. After recently celebrating the classic 1977 with a 20th anniversary tour, they’re now set to release a new album, Islands, on May 18 via Infectious Music/BMG. It’s the followup to 2015’s Kablammo!, which was their first album in eight years and first since vowing in 2007 to never make another album again. The lead single off Islands is “Buzzkill,” which is a real classic-Ash-sounding ripper. Listen and check out the artwork and tracklist below.

Ash are also touring, including mostly UK dates but also two in NYC. The first NYC appearance is a Record Store Day (4/21) record store crawl, which will include a bus driving you around from store to store with Ash “performing along the way.” Tickets also include a brunch buffet with bottomless Deep Eddy Vodka at Baby’s All Right, giveaways, a gift bag with a mystery LP and a past RSD release, a limited edition Domino Records tote bag, 15% off at Rough Trade NYC, HiFi Records, and Halcyon, 10% off at Academy Records Index, 15% off online purchases of U-Turn Audio turntables, and a Bags Unlimited vinyl record cleaning cloth.

Ash will also play a proper NYC show at Baby’s All Right on May 30. Tickets are on sale. The show flyer for Baby’s says “Islands US Tour” so more US dates may be TBA. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, all currently announced dates are listed below.
