Ashbringer releasing 'Absolution' this week, touring (stream the full LP)
Twin Cities black metal ensemble Ashbringer are releasing their third album and first for Prosthetic Records, Absolution, this Friday (6/28), and we’re premiering a stream of the whole record today. It was mixed by Between the Buried and Me collaborator Kris Hilbert and mastered by Deafheaven collaborator Jack Shirley, and it’s got a similar atmospheric, indie rock-friendly black metal approach to Deafheaven, but rawer and with a more hardcore punk style frontman in Nick Stanger. It’s a towering, melodic album, but it’s also more down to earth than these types of albums sometimes are, and you can really feel the emotional and visceral punch in Stanger’s delivery. Listen to the whole thing below, and if you like what you hear, you can pre-order it.
Ashrbinger are also supporting the album on tour this summer, including a TBA Brooklyn show on August 11. Stay tuned for the Brooklyn venue announcement and see all tour dates below.
