Attic Abasement

Attic Abasement releasing 'Dream News,' playing shows (NYC with Told Slant, Crying, Harmony Tividad)

Mike Rheinheimer formed the Rochester, NY-based DIY rock band Attic Abasement back in 2006, and they’ve put out a handful of home-recorded/self-released albums since then that have been pretty beloved in certain circles. Their last release was a 2014 split with fellow Rochester band Nod, but they haven’t put out a full length album since 2010. That will change on May 27, when Attic Abasement release Dream News via Father/Daughter Records (pre-order vinyl/CD or digital). They’ve already shared three songs from the album and we’re premiering a fourth, “Neon Trim.” You can check it out, with the other three tracks, below.

The band also have a few upcoming shows, including Brooklyn on June 17 at Shea Stadium with Told Slant, Crying and Harmony Tividad of Girlpool. Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.

The Shea show is the release party for Told Slant’s new album Going By, which comes out June 17 via Double Double Whammy. You can stream “Low Hymnal” and watch the video for “Tsunami” off that album below. Told Slant are also opening The Hotelier’s tour, which hits NYC on 7/15 at Bowery Ballroom (tickets).
