Around for a few years now, Sydney Australia's Beef Jerk make punky, jangly, sneering rock, descended from the Velvet Underground but spiked with a massive hit of early-'80s The Fall. Their debut album, Tragic, came out in 2015 in Australia and is a swell example of Beef Jerk's louche charm. The record just got a belated North American release via Trouble In Mind (also the Stateside home of Aussie bands Dick Diver and Chook Race). You can order it on "fake vomit" colored vinyl and listen to the whole thing below.

Beef Jerk will hit this side of the globe in November for their first U.S. tour which includes two NYC stops: Cake Shop on November 5 with Big Quiet and Young Scum and Sunnyvale on November 6 with Bodega, The Prits and Casual Chaos. Tickets for both shows are on sale now.
