Azealia Banks slams Nicki Minaj for having 6ix9ine open her tour

Nicki Minaj heads out on tour with Future in September in support of her anticipated new album, Queen. Nicki recently announced the first of what she says will be three artists added to the “NICKIHNDRXX” tour, 6ix9ine, whose recent song “Fefe” she also has a guest verse on. A controversial choice, considering 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, pled guilty to “the use of a child in a sexual performance” on October 20, 2015.

Azealia Banks took to social media to criticize Nicki’s choice of tourmate. In a series of posts on Twitter that Daily Dot screencapped (some of which have since been deleted), Azealia says, “I’m deleting my barb card membership. She is officially over. Pedophilia is absolutely gross and evil. Anyone who supports that shit is a lunatic.”

She continues:

A new queen of rap is coming very very soon. The new criteria for being queen of rap is: as queen of rap you are responsible for protecting the rights, safety and well beings of young women of color, and as such, thou shall not with or lend your voice to known pedophiles as you send the message that it’s okay for 18 year old boys to fondle 13 year old girls and get away with it. Thou shall not ever be that desperate for chart success that you basically slap all of your 8-15 year old fans and their moms in the face for allowing their daughters to listen. Hip Hop is the only genre in modern times that normalizes sexual assault and physical abuse against women. It’s fucking sad. Too much for me. I’m deleting my barb card membership. She is officially over. Pedophilia is absolutely gross and evil. Anyone who supports that shit is a lunatic.
