Balam Acab

It might seem easy to write off Balam Acab as just another witch house guy (though that shouldn’t even be a genre anyway), but one listen to his excellent debut LP, Wander/Wonder, would prove that doing so would be way off. With 8 tracks that clock in just under 40 minutes, Balam Acab creates Burial-esque bass and clicks and underwater atmospheres, only coming up for a breath of air and a glimpse of sunlight on “Oh, Why,” before re-emerging into the album’s two swampiest tracks. You can grab “Oh, Why” above and stream two tracks below. The album is also available for purchase as a CD/LP on Amazon and as MP3 on iTunes. The artwork and tracklist are also below.

Balam Acab will be in NYC for a show on November 17 at Le Poisson Rouge. Tickets are on sale now. He doesn’t appear to have any other shows scheduled at the moment.
