Bandcamp waiving their cut of sales again on May 1

Bandcamp

Back on March 20, digital music site Bandcamp waived its revenue share on all download and merchandise sold through the site for 24 hours, in an effort to help artists who cannot make money currently through touring thanks to the coronavirus. (Many independent labels also gave their fees to the artists that day, too.) As Resident Advisor points out, according to an email sent out to artist and labels today, Bandcamp will be doing it again on May 1. Stay tuned for more details.

Around 800,000 items were sold via Bandcamp the first time they did this, with $4.3 million spent through the site.

We listed 30 albums and 15 metal albums from 2020 we recommended buying on Bandcamp back in March.
