Barry Gibb is releasing his first solo album in over 30 years, titled In the Now, which will be out October 7 via Columbia Records. It also marks the first album of all-new material Gibb has released since The Bee Gees’ final album in 2001. He wrote and recorded the new LP with his sons Stephen and Ashley, and he just released In the Now‘s title-track, which has the funky strut/swagger and falsetto harmonies you associate with him. You can stream below.

To celebrate the album’s announcement, Barry will be performing songs new and old at his Hit Factory Criteria studio in Miami, Florida on Saturday (8/20), a concert which will be livestreamed on YouTube using 360 technology. Watch it live at 7 PM Eastern here.

Gibb was one of the most successful songwriters and producers of the ’70s and ’80s — one week in March, 1977 his songs claimed four of the Top 5 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 — and in addition to the many hits he wrote with the Bee Gees, he also penned smashes for his brother Andy, Donna Summer, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, and more.
