UK band Basement ended a short hiatus last year with the Further Sky EP, and now they’re set to release their first full length since 2012’s Colourmeinkindness in 2016. It’s called Promise Everything and it comes out on January 29 via Run For Cover (pre-order).

They just released the title track, and even more so than last year’s EP, it’s a step away from their punk roots towards ’90s radio rock. If you miss when you could turn on KROQ and hear Nirvana, Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, “Promise Everything” was basically written for you. Like those bands it brings stadium-ready accessibility to pure aggression. And it’s a corrective for people who wish “post-grunge” didn’t sound anything like Bush or Candlebox. Listen below (via Noisey).

They begin a tour tonight (10/28) in Colorado with their jangly labelmates Turnover (that has both bands opening for polished pop punk band The Story So Far). It doesn’t hit NYC proper, but it will be nearby on November 7 at Starland Ballroom (NJ) and November 8 at The Emporium (LI). Tickets for Starland and The Emporium are still available. All dates are listed below.
