UK punks Basement signed to Fueled by Ramen last year and released a remixed, remastered version of their 2016 album Promise Everything (originally released on Run For Cover) on the label. Now they've announced their first new album for FBR, Beside Myself, which comes out on October 12 via their new label home. They brought in some bigger names to help helm this one, like co-producer Colin Brittain (whose credits include Dashboard Confessional) and mixer Rich Costey (Muse, Weezer, Deftones, etc), but going by lead single "Disconnect," it luckily doesn't sound like they've been influenced or pressured to go in the sell-out-y direction that a lot of FBR bands go in. The slightly bigger-sounding production brings out the best in Basement and really helps the huge, soaring chorus pop out at you, but the song still sounds raw and human like Basement always have. The FADER, who premiered the track, compared it to Jimmy Eat World, which I'd say is pretty apt. Watch the video (directed by Adam Powell) below.

This weekend, Basement play Chicago's Lollapalooza (and a Lollapalooza aftershow), where they'll be one of the only punk bands. In the fall, they're touring the UK with Joyce Manor (who also recently announced a new album). All dates are listed below.
