Beach House played Baby’s All Right (instagrams / setlist)

There were Beach House fans lined up outside Baby's All Right early Thursday afternoon (8/27) in hopes of scoring someone's extra ticket or +1 to get into this surprise, impossibly intimate show. The Baltimore band had just released their fourth album, Depression Cherry, and this was the NYC record release show, announced only the day before, and tickets sold out in seconds. The fan with the sign above ended up getting in, as did most of the folks who waited all day -- Baby's ended up lowering the partition between the front bar and the performance space, and they sold a few tickets at the door.
Inside, Baby's was packed as you might expect with fans standing on anything to get a better view. It was extremely hot in there and singer Victoria Legrand was wearing a floor-length coat of some sort, she had to have been melting. Beach House played as a four piece and sounded amazing (they brought in their own board which took up a big chunk of the back of the floor). Baby's had sound pumping everywhere and it even sounded great in the side bar. Setlist from the night is below. There were signs up asking for no flash, no cameras, and no video. Fans mostly obliged, there really weren't too many cell phones aloft. That said, instagram pics and videos are in this post.
Did you make it in? Beach House have already promised to be back in NYC for more shows at probably much much bigger places. Stay tuned for tour news.
