Beach Slang opening Goo Goo Dolls tour

Goo Goo Dolls announced a headlining fall tour in support of their upcoming album Miracle Pill (due September 13 via Warner), and support on several dates will come from a beloved newer band who have earned lots of comparisons to early ’90s era Goo Goo Dolls: Beach Slang. They’re opening dates in Michigan, Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Toronto, and more. All dates are listed below.

Beach Slang recently released their MLPS EP, which featured covers of Minneapolis artists Paul Westerberg (The Replacements) and Bob Mould (Husker Du), and was produced by Goo Goo Dolls’ Robby Takac.

Goo Goo Dolls have NYC-area shows this summer with less appealing tourmates: co-headliners Train. In other related news, Snail Mail and Soccer Mommy covered “Iris” at a Pitchfork Fest Aftershow over the weekend.

You can hear GGD’s recent single here and watch the video for the classic “Long Way Down,” along with a Beach Slang video, below.
