Bear vs Shark reunite, announce Flint water crisis benefit show
Michigan's Bear vs. Shark had a brief career in the early/mid 2000s, with an EP and two full lengths -- 2003's Right Now, You're in the Best of Hands. And If Something Isn't Quite Right, Your Doctor Will Know in a Hurry and 2005's Terrorhawk -- before breaking up in 2005. The first is a raw math-punk basher and the second has artier tendencies and sharper production, and both are fantastic in their own ways. In the time since calling it quits, they proved to be very influential (including on the band Ma Jolie, who are named after a BvS song) and frontman Marc Paffi kept his unique vision of punk rock going in the band Bars of Gold. Now, after a decade away, Bear vs Shark are finally back.
They launched a Facebook, Twitter, and website last week, and now their first show has been announced. It's a benefit show to help those affected by the water crisis in Flint, MI happening June 25 at Flint Local 432. Tickets are on sale now and all proceeds will support the Flint Child Health and Development Fund. Show poster below.
Stay tuned for any news on more upcoming tour dates. Meanwhile, stream both of their albums below.
