Beck, Patti Smith, Laura Marling & more on 'Music Inspired by the Film Roma' LP
Beck, Patti Smith, Laura Marling, UNKLE & Michael Kiwanuka, Jessie Reyez, Ibeyi, DJ Shadow, and more have contributed songs to a new album inspired by Afonso Cuarón’s Oscar-nominated film Roma. The album’s out February 8 and you can listen to Beck’s contribution, a lovely orchestral cover of Colourbox’s “Tarantula,” below.
Roma is up for 10 Oscars this year, including Best Picture, Best Foreign Film, Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, and more. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s streaming on Netflix and is still playing in some theaters around the country. Watch the trailer below.
