Big Ears expands 2018 lineup (Four Tet, Arto Lindsay, Ikue Mori, Marc Ribot, more)

More artists and daily lineups have been revealed for the 2018 edition of Knoxville, TN’s unique Big Ears festival, which goes down from March 22-25 (tickets). Here are some of the new additions:

Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet) is playing a duo set with Mats Gustafsson of The Thing.

The Thing’s Paal Nilssen-Love will also be there, playing a set with no wave/experimental legend Arto Lindsay.

Another no waver, Ikue Mori, is playing a set with Okkyung Lee, Ned Rothenberg, and Evan Parker, as well as her own solo set.

Guitar great Marc Ribot is doing two performances, a duo set with David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, and a set with his band Ceramic Dog.

Yuka C. Honda of Cibo Matto is presenting her solo show Eucademix, and appearing as a special guest for Nels Cline‘s big band opus Lovers.

Jon Gibson, who was in Philip Glass’ original ensemble in the early ’70s, will perform his 1973 piece Visitations and other works.

Another additions include Meshell Ndegeocello, Roscoe Mitchell and Aine O’Dwyer. Still more acts are TBA. Updated lineup below.
