Unsolved Biggie Tupac

Biggie/Tupac series 'Unsolved' lives up to the hype (watch the full premiere)

Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. premiered on USA last night. The new series simultaneously follows the story of Detective Russell Poole (Jimmi Simpson), who investigated the murder of Biggie in 1997, Detective Greg Kading (Josh Duhamel), who re-investigated the still-unsolved case in 2006, and the early days of Biggie and Pac’s friendship. The investigation side is often edge-of-your-seat gripping, while the story of Biggie and Pac’s friendship is a fun look into lesser-told happier times, like the scene where Pac meets Biggie in LA and raps part of “Party and Bullshit” to him, or the scene in Pac’s house where the two rappers freestyle together. Wavyy Jonez (who plays Biggie) and Marcc Rose (who plays Tupac and also played him in Straight Outta Compton) also are very convincing in their portrayals of the two rappers. I don’t wanna give too much away — if you haven’t seen the episode, you can watch it in full on USA’s website. It’s 56 minutes long.

After that, watch a sneak peek of episode two:
