Blood Orange debuts new songs on 'Corden'; Santa Barbara show w/ Christine & The Queens canceled

Following his appearance at Coachella, Blood Orange stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday night (4/16) to perform two brand new songs, “Something to Do” and “Dark Handsome.” It was a theatrical performance, with the stage made to look like a city park with Dev Hynes lounging on the grass and backup singers on benches behind him. “Something to Do” was very brief, serving as an appetizer for the main course that was the laid back and groovy “Dark Handsome.” Blood Orange’s Coachella set opened with a cover of Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold” and you can watch that, and his Late Late Show performance, below.

Dev was supposed to play a Blood Orange show with Christine & The Queens (who also played Coachella) on Thursday (4/18) at Santa Barbara’s Santa Barbara Bowl but that show has been canceled due to a family emergency. No further details were shared but Christine & The Queens were also supposed to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night but were replaced by Dan Mangan.

Both Christine & The Queens and Blood Orange are still scheduled to play Coachella Weekend 2 this Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

In other news, Christine & The Queens released a video for “Comme si” (from 2018’s Chris) which you can watch below.
