Blue Note Entertainment open new NYC venue, Subrosa

Subrosa

Blue Note Entertaiment Group, the people behind NYC venues Blue Note Jazz Club, BB King Blues Club and Highline Ballroom, will be opening a new venue focusing on Latin and world music in the Meatpacking District. It’s called Subrosa (Latin for “under the rose”) and is a 120-capacity space located on 63 Gansevoort St. Here’s more via press release:

“We are opening Subrosa to provide a new creative hub for eclectic music, with an emphasis on Latin and World music disciplines,” says Steven Bensusan, President of Blue Note Entertainment Group. “This space will ultimately serve as a destination for listeners to discover new globally-influenced music in an accessible setting.”

The first show happens this Friday (11/12) with The Pedro Martinez Group, who will be moving their residency there from Guantanamera. You can get tickets to that show and all other shows at the venue, and check out the current schedule here.

If they ever expand into metal, maybe the band SubRosa can play there.
