Bob Brown

Bob Brown details reissues, announces more shows

We mentioned last year that early ’70s cult folk singer Bob Brown will reissue his two albums, The Wall I Built Myself and Willoughby’s Lament, in 2016 on the Tompkins Square Label. Now more details have been revealed, including that they’ll come out on May 13. The label also uploaded a stream of “It Takes The World To Make A Feather Fall” from the The Wall I Built Myself reissue. If you’re unfamiliar, but you like ’60s/’70s psychedelic folk or the many modern artists who keep that sound alive, you’ll definitely like this. Listen below.

Bob played his first show since the ’80s at the Tompkins Square Label 10th anniversary show at Rough Trade NYC this past October. Now he has two more planned. One is in DC on April 8 at Red Onion Records & Books, which will also have Tompkins Square’s Josh Rosenthal reading his book, The Record Store of the Mind. The other is back in NYC on June 29 at Joe’s Pub. Tickets aren’t on sale yet, but they should be soon via Joe’s Pub’s site.
