Bob Dylan cancels summer North American tour

Bob Dylan was scheduled to hit the road in June and July for a tour with Nathaniel Rateliff (which included an NYC show at Forest Hills Stadium on July 8) but, like many other tours, shows, and festivals, those dates have now been cancelled due to COVID-19. Here’s a message from Bob:

To all our fans,

In the interest of public health and safety and after many attempts to try and reschedule these shows for a workable timeframe this year, it is with deep regret that we announce the US Bob Dylan shows originally scheduled for June/July are cancelled. We hope to be back out on the road at the earliest possible time once we are confident that it is safe for both fans and concert staff.

Please contact your point of purchase for all information on refunds.

Not surprising, but a bummer all the same.

Earlier this month Bob announced a new album, Rough and Rowdy Ways, which is due out June 19 via Columbia. We’ve heard three songs from it so far, the seventeen minute “Murder Most Foul,” the shorter “I Contain Multitudes,” and, most recently, the rough-edged bluesy rock track “False Prophet.” Listen to all three below.
