Bob Dylan began his five-night run at NYC's Beacon Theatre last night (11/20). He's supporting his latest covers album and did do some covers (including two Frank Sinatra songs), but also played a handful of classics: "Highway 61 Revisited," "Desolation Row," "Blowin' in the Wind," "Tangled Up in Blue," "It Ain't Me, Babe," and more. You can see the full setlist and a few short video clips below.

Opening this show (and the whole tour) was Bob Dylan's lifelong friend Mavis Staples, who is fresh off releasing her new album If All I Was Was Black (written and produced by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy), which has Mavis delivering the kinds of protest songs that really resonate in 2017. Mavis also sang some of the defining protest songs of the civil rights era as a member of The Staple Singers, like the classic "Freedom Highway," which she played last night back to back with "Build A Bridge" off her new album. Some short video clips and her setlist are below as well.

The run at the Beacon continues tonight (11/21), Wednesday (11/22), Friday (11/24), and Saturday (11/25). It's sold out but there are some resale tickets available on Ticketmaster.
