Bob Mould has been on a roll lately with new albums that are cut from a very similar cloth as early Sugar and late Husker Du, and his recent live shows have been killer. So it's very exciting news that he's back with a new LP and plans to tour. The new album, which follows 2016's Patch the Sky, is called Sunshine Rock and it's his fourth consecutive album with the rhythm section of drummer Jon Wurster and bassist Jason Narducy. This time around, he also worked with an 18-piece orchestra for five of the songs, and included a cover of "Send Me a Postcard" by '60s-era Dutch psych rockers Shocking Blue (whose "Love Buzz" was famously covered by Nirvana, and "Venus" even more famously covered by Bananarama). The first single is the title track, which opens the album, and it's another dose of that classic Bob Mould sound and also does a great job of bringing in those aforementioned string arrangements. Listen and check out the artwork and tracklist below. The album comes out February 8 via Merge (pre-order).

The tour hits NYC's Brooklyn Steel on February 21, and that's one of three shows where Bob will be joined by his punky Merge labelmates Titus Andronicus, which is a very cool double bill. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (10/26) at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting today (10/24) at noon. All dates are listed below.

Earlier this year, Titus released their new ballad-heavy album A Productive Cough. They also have headlining shows coming up very soon, including Jersey City's Monty Hall on Halloween and 11/2, Asbury Park's House of Independents on 11/1, and Brooklyn's Market Hotel on 11/3.
