Bob Mould played two solo electric shows @ City Winery (pics/setlists)
Bob Mould played two solo electric shows at NYC’s City Winery last week (February 9 & 10). Even though he was without a backing band, Bob Mould still gets plenty loud all by himself, playing a mix of Hüsker Dü, Sugar and solo favorites. At Thursday’s show, he opened with two Sugar songs (“Hoover Dam,” “Your Favorite Thing”), followed by Hüsker Dü’s “I Apologize” and early solo hit “See a Little Light.” Friday also got “If I Can’t Change Your Mind,” “Too Far Down” and, as a tribute to Mary Tyler Moore (who recently passed away), he encored with Mary Tyler Moore Show theme “Love is All Around” and followed with “Makes No Sense at All” which were both sides of a Husker Du 7″ in 1985. Friday, he varied things up a little, finishing with “Love is All Aound” and then the Du’s “Celebrated Summer.”

Bob will be back out for more solo electric shows in May, though nothing in NYC. All dates are listed below.
