Bob Nanna's band Lifted Bells streaming "Kingston Vale" (listen)

Highly influential and prolific emo/math rock musician Bob Nanna is releasing a new EP with his band Lifted Bells, Overreactor, on July 15 via Run For Cover (pre-order). We already posted the track “Prodigal,” and we’re now premiering another song from the EP, “Kingston Vale.” It’s got the kind of guitar complexity you expect from a Bob Nanna band, but on this song it’s more ’70s twin leads than ’90s Midwestern emo. Thematically, Bob tells us “‘Kingston Vale’ is about a specific episode in a life where missteps are made, followed by immediate relief at the realization that everyone makes mistakes. Cryptic? Probably not cryptic enough.” Check out the song below.

No tour announced for Lifted Bells yet (but, like every punk-ish band in the world, they are playing The Fest), but Bob’s band Hey Mercedes have an upcoming reunion tour. Hey Mercedes will hit NYC with Prawn on July 13 at Bowery Ballroom (tickets) and July 16 at Market Hotel (tickets).
