Bob Weir shares “Only A River” (ft. mems of The National)
The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir recently announced that he'd release his first solo album in over a decade, Blue Mountain, which he recorded with past collaborators and big Deadheads Aaron & Bryce Dessner and Scott Devendorf of The National (plus Josh Kaufman, who The National recorded their Dead tribute with, and more). Now the first song from the album has surfaced. It's called "Only A River," which was co-written with Josh Ritter, and it's a melancholic '70s-ish ballad. Listen (via NPR):
Bob and National members are also supporting the album on tour, including two shows at Brooklyn's Kings Theater and one at the Cap.
