Bossa Nova Civic Club owner looking to open 1300-person venue in Brooklyn

John Barclay, who owns Bushwick nightclub Bossa Nova Civic Club, is looking to open a 1300-person concert hall, nightclub, and restaurant in Williamburg’s industrial zone, DNAinfo reports. The space would be located at 198 Randolp St (the same place the Bushwick Collective did the opening night art gallery during their spring block party) and he plans to have it open until 6 AM on weekends. Most details are still TBA, but here’s some more insight from that DNAinfo article:

“We are trying to follow every possible rule and we are very open to any input from the community board,” said Barclay, following Wednesday night’s meeting. He declined to elaborate more on the venue, saying he had just begun the permitting process.

A sample menu for the restaurant submitted to the community board featured light and healthy snacks including kale chips, quinoa bowls and sunflower falafel and juices with ingredients like eucalyptus, grapefruit, ginger, ginseng, nettles and activated charcoal.

This venue would be a four minute walk from PopGun’s upcoming 24,000 square foot venue Elsewhere.
