Brand New played 'Science Fiction' songs live for the first time (videos, setlist)

Brand New finally released their excellent long-awaited fifth album Science Fiction, and last night (9/9) they played their first show since its release at San Bernardino, CA’s inaugural High & Low Festival. They were joined on stage for their whole set by longtime pal Kevin Devine (who also played his own set at the festival), and they made the live debuts of “Lit Me Up,” “Can’t Get It Out,” “Same Logic/Teeth,” “In the Water,” “Out of Mana,” “137” and “451” from the new album. They also did a nice selection of Devil and God, Daisy and Deja songs, and played just one song from Your Favorite Weapon: a solo acoustic performance from Jesse of “Soco Amaretto Lime” in the encore. You can see the full setlist and watch videos of the some of the new songs, along with some more pics from the show, below.

UPDATE: Brand New Archive points out that Zach Cooper uploaded videos of the whole set. Watch below.

Brand New are hanging around California for a post-High & Low show in San Francisco with (Sandy) Alex G, and their headlining tour begins in October. They’ll be in Brooklyn to play Kings Theatre on October 19.
