British MC Stormzy touring North America around SXSW

British MC Stormzy made the BBC Sound of 2015 longlist last year (but lost to Years & Years) and has been building up a lot of buzz for his singles like “Know Me From” and “Shut Up,” the latter of which has over 25 million views on YouTube. It’s easy to see why he’s catching on. Like fellow rising British MC Lady Leshurr, these songs are instantly addictive. Check out those, and his newest YouTube upload “One Take Freestyle,” below.

Stormzy was announced earlier this year for SXSW (where one of his shows is the just-announced Pitchfork party), and he’ll play other North American shows around then too. He makes his NYC debut at Market Hotel on March 20 with Nasty Nigel and Nick Catchdubs. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
