Broken Social Scene have announced a new EP, Let’s Try The After - Vol 1, due February 15 via Arts & Crafts. The EP was produced by Nyles Spencer, except for the song "1972," which was produced by BSS members Charles Spearin and Joe Chiccarelli. "The point is to keep going," band leader Kevin Drew said. "We have more to give. These songs have lived beside us and become our commencement party while continuing together. We hope you enjoy this EP for you and me." It's their first release since 2017's great Hug of Thunder.

The lead single, which is out now, is "All I Want." It's synthier than you might expect from BSS, and lead vocals are handled by Andrew Whiteman (also of Apostle of Hustle). Listen below. The band also premiered "1972" in a live performance on CBC's "The Strombo Show" last week, along with another new, non-EP track, "Can't Find My Heart," and you can watch that below too ("Can't Find My Heart" starts at 7:41 and "1972" starts at 12:44).

BSS have also announced two Montreal shows and two LA shows, and they're promising more dates TBA. All currently announced dates are listed below.
