Some things just can't last. Wonders of Nature, which opened at the start of the year at the corner of Grand and Berry (in the space that housed Little Neck and BAD Burger) and which was booked by former Cake Shop owner Andy Bodor, has closed. While there hasn't been official word from the venue, WFMU DJ Jeff Conklin tweeted "RIP Wonders of Nature" and Toebow, who were to have played WoN tonight (10/2) posted on Instagram, "Unfortunately our show tonight at @wondersofnaturebk has been cancelled due to the sudden closure of the venue. We are bummed to have to cancel, and sad that another young Brooklyn venue has had to shut its doors. Wonders of Nature was a great place." It was apparently closed for good, and we have reached out for comment.

Wonders of Nature, which had apartments above it, seemed almost unbelievable that it existed at all in Williamsburg 2018, even with programming that leaned toward avant garde folk, jazz and quieter sounds. The Lemonheads' Evan Dando played a solo acoustic show there on Saturday and the venue had shows on their calendar through November. In addition to the Toebow show tonight, Thursday's Jessica Ackerly Quartet show has been moved to Scholes Street Studio, and the Jerry David DeCicca show on Friday (10/5) will now happen at Our Wicked Lady. Other shows on WoN's callender: Outer Spaces (10/12), Hans Chew (10/13), Brute Force and Hamish Kilgour (10/25), Nicole Yun of Eternal Summers and The Wrens' Charles Bissell (11/1), Brigid Mae Power (11/8) and more. No word yet on those.

Wonders of Nature we are very sorry to see you go.
