Brooklyn’s Operator (no “s,” so not to be confused with Dan Boeckner’s band Operators) make indie rock with an overt kraut influence, featuring lots of analogue synthesizers, and an emphasis on motoroik rhythms. If you dig Stereolab and American Analog Set, Operator are doing a similar thing and are doing it really well. Last fall they released Puzzlephonics I and have just released a new EP, Matérielmusik, that just came out last week. Both are worth checking out and you can stream them below.

Operator will celebrate Matérielmusik‘s release tonight (2/26) at Palisades in Brooklyn with Wume, Macula Dog, and Drama Section. Tickets are on sale and flyer for the show is below.
